After months of legal battles and piles of unpaid bills, Omega Restaurant Pancake House & Bakery will reopen next week.

Telly Andrianopoulos co-owns the omega restaurant along with George Andrews, his father, and Nick Christopoulos. The restaurant, which has been in Downers Grove nearly 40 years, is set to reopen on March 4.

Andrianopoulos stated that they can’t wait to see the doors open. It’s been a long process, but finally it is over. We just want to keep going.”

Andrianopoulos is preparing to move forward with his family, but the previous tenant of the omega restaurant is in a legal dispute with Commonwealth Edison over a bill he claimed helped him go out of business.

Jim Stavropoulos sued ComEd through JJS Restaurant I, Inc. in July for breaching contract. He claimed that the company improperly charged him for thousands of dollars that he didn’t owe, and also shut off the electrical service to his restaurant without proper notice.

According to the suit and Stavropoulos he took over the business after his father’s retirement in April. According to the suit, ComEd officials stated that the elder Stavropoulos owed more money than $16,000 but that they opened a new account for Jim Stavropoulos without attaching any prior balance.

Two weeks later, ComEd shut down power to the omega restaurant in the middle of a busy lunch rush. The company had apparently canceled Stavropoulos’ new account and restored the old account with all outstanding charges, according to the lawsuit.

The full menu features a variety of freshly baked breads, pastries, and desserts. We also offer skillets, benedicts as well as paradise biryani waffles, crepes, waffles, and crepes. Crisp salads, sandwiches, and burgers are all available.
